This year marks the 5th anniversary for Coastal Midwest Transport being one of the many proud sponsors of the Goldfields Children’s Charity Ball. It is such a momentous occasion and a privilege to be a part of especially when you listen to the stories of families with sick children or families relying on the fantastic Royal Flying Doctors service. The country communities sometimes don’t have the facilities needed to help in life threaten situations, and for the Royal Flying Doctor service to be available to so many families is such an amazing service.
On the night it was hard to imagine that we were all standing on what normally would be the basketball courts at the Oasis. This year the stadium was transformed into a spellbinding Glisten theme with an amazing centrepiece draping over the dance floor. Whilst busting a few moves on the dance floor, listening to the wonderful band that entertained the masses, you could close your eyes and be anywhere in the world. The decorations, the entertainment and the company that we entertained on our tables was first class and such a fantastic night.
The main reason for us to gather on this night was to fundraise for the Ronald McDonald House and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Coastal Midwest Transport donated money towards a number of items, with one of our donations being for $2,550. This donation is for 1 month stay at the Ronald McDonald house for a family whilst there child is in hospital seriously ill. This donations goes towards offering such a great facility for families to be close to their children and give them the opportunity to be close in times of need, especially when their stay in hospital is longer than anticipated.
An absolute indescribable event with around 1,000 people in attendance all there for the same reason, to fundraise as much money for the sick children of Western Australia and to ensure the Royal Flying Doctor service continues in offering such a valuable service to the many families living in all country areas of our wonderful state.
To next year, we look forward to again putting our hands in our pockets and raising as much money as we can for such a wonderful cause.
